How do I floss correctly?

  • Use about 30cm of dental floss, winding most of it around your middle fingers, leaving a few centimetres in between for flossing.
  • Gently guide the floss between your teeth, curving it around each tooth in a C-shape and sliding it up and down.
  • Avoid snapping the floss, as it can damage your gums. Be gentle but thorough.
  • Use a clean section of floss for each tooth to avoid spreading bacteria.
  • Floss at least once a day, ideally before bedtime, to remove plaque and debris that accumulates during the day.
