Ellenie Palmer

Biography

I studied a Bachelor of Oral Health, Graduate Diploma in Dental Therapy and a Bachelor of Health Science with Honours at the University of Newcastle.

After graduating from University, I started working in NSW Health public dental clinics for 8 years between Hunter New England and Central Coast Local Health Districts. My role included clinical student supervision as well as mentoring other staff members and clinically treating patients of my own.

I also undertook multiple FIFO placements in the Northern Territory to provide dental treatment to children in remote indigenous communities including Galiwinku, Yarralin, Timber Creek and Maningrida.

My favourite thing in dentistry is to distract my patients during treatment to make them more comfortable, especially children.

I love to spend time outdoors in the sunshine on adventures riding my mountain bike down big hills. In my downtime I enjoy reading and listening to audiobooks and taking our puppy to the park to run around.
